Director, co-author and actor. First performed in French as Le Polygraphe at Implanthéâtre, Quebec City, 6-14 May 1988, produced by Théâtre Repère. Developed through improvisation by actors Robert Lepage, Marie Brassard and Pierre Phillipe Guay with contributions from Gyllian Raby. Second version changed substantially from the first, developed through improvisation in Montreal. Performed in November 1988 as co-production by Théâtre Repère and Théâtre de Quat'Sous, then translated into English and performed at the Almeida Theatre, London 21 February to 4 March 1989. Presented as part of Harbourfront Festival's QuayWorks in Toronto 21 February to 3 March 1990. Script developed further and became bilingual.

First version lasted three hours and premiered at the Edinburgh International Festival In August 1994. Version two lasted five hours and was first seen at the Wiener Festwochen in Vienna in May - June 1995. The third version lasted eight hours and opened at Le Carrefour International de Théâtre de Québec in May 1996.
